CAROLE CHENEY STATEMENT ON TAX BILL

Cheney calls tax bill “a path to inequality” that hurts families

Naperville, IL – Carole Cheney, Democratic candidate for Congress in Illinois’ 6th Congressional District, released the following statement on the vote today to pass the Republican tax bill. Congressman Peter Roskam (IL-06) cosponsored the bill.

“This tax plan is a path to inequality with a clear destination: an economy and society that empowers a wealthy few, leaving hard-working families stuck in neutral. It reveals what Peter Roskam really cares about: his rich campaign donors and the corporate interests that fund his political career.

My campaign is powered by my commitment to families throughout Illinois’ 6th district. I will fight to create more opportunity and protect what’s been earned, and will raise my voice against the special interests and wealthy corporations who think they control the system.”
